15th Frames

Money Trade Coin Group presents the 15th edition of Frames Film Festival powered by Hungama Play was held from 9th to 11th of January 2018. The theme being कथा •rsis - Chronicles of Change, beautiful stories and emotions were exchanged. The producer, writer and director of the movie Ribbon inaugurated the festival. Personalities like Rajit Kapur, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, Anwesha, Aman Trikha, Aditi Govitrikar, Jayant Gilatar and A.K. Madhavan graced the occasion. The 15th Frames scored a total of 16 media partners including Hungama Play, Ishq 104.8FM, Free Press Journal, Afternoon DC, Saam TV, Sakal, Youth Incorporated, ATKT, etc. A few of our sponsers included Money Trade Coin Group, Creative Graphics, Cafe Bombay Diaries, McDonald's, Ice Cream Works. Breaking previous year records, the 15th Frames recieved more than 4000 film entries from over 180 countries worldwide.


14th Frames

The 14th edition of Frames Film Festival powered by 9XM 9XO was held from 11th January to 13th January. The theme being 'Trendsetters of Cinema' we invited veteran Bollywood actor Mr.Prem Chopra as our chief guest. Eminent personalities like Nitya Mehra, Kanu Behl, Bharat Dabholkar, Kiran Deohans, Jay Oza, Parul Gulati, Nikhil Paul George, Jasmine Sandlas and many more graced this edition with their presence. Some of our media partners were, INOX, The Hindu, ATKT, Blogadda, Hindustan Times to name a few. Our other sponsors include, Rockvill Cafe, Mc Donald's, KFC, Hyundai etc. Breaking the record,14th Frames received more than 3500 entries from India and across the world.


13th Frames

The 13th Frames Film Festival was held from 21st to 23rd January, 2016 which was inaugrated by star cast of Zubaan, Jackie Shroff was the chief guest. The theme for the 13th edition was "League of Villans" which was reviled by the star cast of movie Zubaan. Some of the emminent personalities to witness this edition include Shriram Raghavan, Navdeep Singh, Vijay Lalwani, Shahid Mallya, Kavita Seth, Neha Bhasin and many more. SOme of our media parterns include Mastii, Saavn, The Times of India to name a few.


12th Frames

12th Frames Film Festival was held on 15th, 16th and 17th of January 2015. Frames received entries not only from reputed colleges and film institutions across India but also from different countries like U.S.A., Great Britain, Australia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The theme for 12th Frames Film Festival was ‘Indie-Ras’ which combines the two aspects of Independent Cinema and Navras.The focus was on regional cinema which represents the true spirit of India or ‘Bharath’. Frames in its 12th edition was inaugurated by the cast of the upcoming Marathi movie “Baji” which included Nikhil Mahajan(Director), Amruta Khanvilkar(Actress) and Jitendra Joshi(Actor). Amruta Khanvilkar who is best known for her famous song, “Vaajle Ki Bara” from the award winning film “Natrang” did an impromptu performance much to the delight of the assembled audience. Frames was graced with the presence of eminent personalities such as Swapnil Joshi, Aarti Bajaj, Soumya Tandon, Vasan Bala, Shlok Sharma, Samar Shaikh, among others.


11th Frames

The 11th edition of Frames Film Festival was hosted on 6th, 7th and 8th of February, 2014. Eminent filmmaker Mr. Bejoy Nambiar was the chief guest for the inaugural session of the festival. The judges for Short Film Category were Sanjay Gadhvi director, Farhad Sajid the writer duo, Sanjay Jadhav director of famous Marathi film Duniyadaari and, Parvin Dabas actor. The cast and crew of the movie “Identity Card” graced the festival to promote their movie. The director of the film RahatKazmi along with the producer Zeba Sajid and Furkaan Merchant, an actor of the movie were present to interact with the young students. The judges for the Ad film category were NilayMoonje, the Creative Director of Ogilvy and Mather, Sunil Tiwari, an Ad film maker and Namit Das, Actor. The judges for the Music Videos Category were Leslie Lewis and Shruti Pathak, both very popular singers.Shruti Pathak sang a few lines of her hit song Marjawaan and Mr.Lewis decided to give an impromptu performance for the students. He rendered his famous songs Krishna, Something About The Way You Walk and Yaaron Dosti. Actors Gulshan Devaiah and Yashpal Sharma were the special invitees to bestow the awards to the participating filmmakers.


10th Frames

“Framing a decade, celebrating a century” that’s what frames film festival set out to achieve, as it turned 10 and gave a tribute to 100 glorious years of cinema in 2013 for its 10th edition. On January 31st, the three day festival as inaugurated by Ram Gopal Varma followed by a special 15 minutes screening of the movie “The Attacks of 26/11” The short film session was judged by prominent media personnel like Rajesh Mapuskar, Rommel Rodrigues, Umesh Shukla and Daya Shankar Pandey. The total number of entries received for the Short films Non-BMM category was 66 and in the Short Film BMM category was 45. The Documentaries was judged by renowned names from the industry like Sabir Khan, Aarti Srivastav, Raj Singh Chaudhury, and Saurabh Kulkarni. A visibly moved Raj Singh Chaudhury said “When I told Anurag Kashyap (director) that I’d be visiting Frames, he told me that when you will go there you will learn something as students are the best teachers. Today, I go back with a sense of gratitude.” The third day of the festival started with an interactive session with director Vikramaditya Motwane. The award ceremony was graced by Singer Madushree and Actor Akhilendra Yadav.


9th Frames

The 9th edition of Frames was held on the 19th, 20th and 21st January 2012. It was inaugurated by Film- Maker Anurag Kashyap along with Ms. Chandra Krishnamoorthy- Director of SIES Institutions. The short Film session was judged by Actress Renuka Shahane, Manoj Joshi and Imaad Shah. The documentaries session was judged by Actor Avatar Gill, Yohan Wadia- Head of department of FX school and Mr. C.B. Arun Kumar- Academic director of FX school. With entries coming from even New York Film Academy. In the Short films category , approximately 72 entries were received. Over 20 entries were received in the Documentaries category. For Advertisement and PSA categories 50 entries were received in total. Actors Neetu Chandra, Sunny Gill and Simran Kaur Mundi graced the award ceremony.


8th Frames

The 8th Frames Film Festival was held on the 27th, 28th 29th of January 2011. Frames 2011 received entries from Muscat and London Film School. This year Frames Film Festival was associated with the RTO and A ‘Road Safety’rally was held on the 25th of January 2011.Chief Guests Ravi Jadhav, Farooq Nadiadwala and Mujeeb Khan inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp. Other eminent personalities like Rajiv Paul, Niranjan Iyengar, Gaurav Gera, Ashish Baldev, Ravi Deshpande, Minty Tejpal, Shilpa Rao, Arun Khopkar, Dolly Thakore, Nikita Nigam, Pratichi Mohapatra, Justin Uday and Priyanshu Chaterjee graced the festival with their presence this year. On the third day, Ganesh Acharya, along with the cast and crew, came to promote of his movie “Angel”. The festival received over 100 entries in its 8th edition.


7th Frames

In its 7th edition, Frames went ‘Retro’; the décor of the college was a witness to this fact. This festival was held from the 21st January to 23rd January. We received a total of 140 entries in its 7th year. Frames was graced with the presence of eminent personalities in the field of media like Basu Chaterjee, Basheer Ali, Akbar Khan, Jerret John, Himani Shivpuri, Nirmal Jain, Yogesh Jani, Arya Babbar, Raman Trikha, Gauri Karnik, Avinash Mantri, SanjitNarvekar, C. B. Arun Kumar, Caesar, Luke Kenny, SurajJagan, Chintu Bhonsle and Siddharth Haldipur.


6th Frames

6th Frames Film Festival was held in the January of 2009. The theme of Frames was a tribute to SIES college as it marked a decade of this glorious institution.A new category called PIC-2-REEL, was introduced this year. A number of eminent personalities such as Sanjay Gupta, Mahesh Bhatt, Nagesh Kukunoor and other media and Ad film personalities graced the four day long Frames Film Festival and also shared their experience with the students. The non-Bmm category received 25 entries out of which 14 got selected and screened. The last day of Frames, witnessed the screen of Ad Films amd Music Videos. Rajeev Laxman of MTV Roadies fame was among the guests who graced the event. Frames received coverage from media organizations like NDTV 24/7, AajTak, Sahara One and NMTV. Print media like Times of India, DNA, NAVI MUMBAI and Asia Age also covered the event.


5th Frames

5th Frames Film Festival was held in the January of 2008. It was inaugurated by Nagesh Kuknoor, Sanjay Chel and Shilpa Shukla. “Film making is one of the most dynamic forms of storytelling, one must believe in the story and stick to the script” said NageshKuknoor. The documentary category of the BMM students was judged by Sanjit Narwekar, U.N.Gopi Nair and Ravi Diwan. The festival received 150 entries from over 50 colleges and also from Delhi, Kolkatta, Chennai and Pune in the same year.


4th Frames

4th Frames Film Festival was held in the year 2007 with the motto “Bigger and Better”. The Festival in its previous years has seen the participation of more than 35 colleges in and around Mumbai which include colleges such as St. Xaviers, Wilson’s, KC College, Swami Vivekanand, Jai Hind etc to name a few. The fest began on 22nd January and lasted till 25th January. It was inaugurated by Javed Sayed, Cinematographer, Director under Balaji telefilms and Rituparna Sengupta.


3rd Frames

The 3rd frames film festival taking the 3 years old tradition forward witnessed the presence of another set of industry professionals on the three day festival, in the month of January. The festival inspired many young budding filmmakers giving them a platform to showcase their talents.


2nd Frames

The 2nd Frames Film Festival held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th February,2005. Was marked with the presence of Mahesh Bhatt who inaugurated this edition. We also witnessed Madhur Bhandarkar as the chief guest.


1st Frames

A modest initiative by a group of aspiring Mass-media students of the 2003-04 batch Frames today has grown into a platform for nurturing the talents of budding filmmakers. On a larger canvas, our participants have been hired by reputed industry professionals over the years. The primary objective is to showcase student films and to allow our students to interact and learn from industry professionals.
